But he insists there is still plenty of room for improvement ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Bordeaux at Anfield.

Klopp’s side host Bordeaux in a Europa League encounter tonight and will be looking to secure a victory to boost their chances of finishing as group leaders.

“To go [to City] and to win the game, and also the way they did win, more or less put the game to bed in the first half, was majorly impressive”.

Jurgen Klopp has urged Liverpool to improve their home form in order to achieve success this season.

Bordeaux coach Willy Sagnol knows his side are not the favourites either in the match or to progress from Group B but he remains upbeat. Les Girondins will be out of the competition with a loss and a draw would leave them needing results elsewhere going their way in two weeks time.

Liverpool will qualify for the knockout stage with a win or a goalless draw at Anfield. The fact he’s happy to be interviewed by nine-year old Liverpool fans just proves he’s a bloody nice bloke too, making everything at the club feel extra lovely and nice. Boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to get the job done as quickly as possible, with a trip away to FC Sion still to come on match day six. See PA story SOCCER Liverpool.

“We know it will be a tough game, Bordeaux are a quality, quality team in the French league”, added Lovren.

Gerrard, who plays in the United States with the LA Galaxy, met Klopp earlier this month and the German invited him to train with the first team during the Major League Soccer (MLS) close season. You have to talk about the good things as well as bad.

“Daniel is coming closer and closer so he can train now seven or eight times in a row – that is the longest period since I’ve been here – and that will help him and in the end help us”, Klopp said. “We will see what works better”.
