Sheriff Newell Normand said responding deputies discovered the mother, 57-year-old Renta Pritchett, near the staircase on the first floor suffering from multiple stab wounds to her head.

University Medical Center spokeswoman Aleis Tusa says Renta Pritchett was released after treatment.

Ronald Pritchett fled from the home in his father’s 1997 Chevrolet Suburban, tan in color, bearing Louisiana license YJS758. Asked by email for more details, he replied, “They ordered food from a fast food restaurant and didn’t include him”.

Pritchett was slightly injured during his arrest in Purvis, MS.

Percival Pritchett was stabbed several times in the chest and died at the hospital. They said Pritchett wouldn’t come outside the house, so they sent in a K-9 unit and he was taken into custody.

The SRT team arrested Pritchett with the use of a K9.

Family members present in the home said the suspect became enraged, picked up a knife and confronted his parents. Finding their bedroom door locked, he kicked it open and began stabbing both his mother and father, Fortunato said.
