Adele’s album 25 soars to record sales in America and Canada
The British star’s third studio album has sold a staggering 2,433,000 copies in just three days, according to Nielsen Music.

The much-anticipated album 25 was not available for streaming on any other digital music services, including Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer. During its debut week, Nielsen recorded 2,416,000 sales for *NSYNC’s album.
“25” is the primary full length work in four years by Adele, whose last record “21” was the top-seller in America for two straight years and by far the largest launch this century in her native Britain.
The 27 year old, who was educated at the Brit School in south London, the same stage school as Amy Winehouse and Leona Lewis, sold more than 30m copies of her last album, “21” which won multiple Grammys including Album of the Year.
We haven’t got United Kingdom album figures yet but it’s set to be the fastest-selling album ever here.
The success of “25” follows that of its lead single, “Hello”, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this month.
Given the slow but steady decline in album sales over the years, it seemed that *NSYNC’s first-week album sales record for No Strings Attached might stand for a lifetime. Adele’s first single “Hello” also managed to rocket to the top on iTunes Chart in nearly 106 countries.
The audience response to 25 from all around the world highlights one of the main reasons why streaming services like Spotify and Apple Inc.’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) Apple Music remain eager to secure a deal with the artist for their platforms.

The phenomenally popular Millennium became one of the best-selling records of all time, staying at the No 1 spot on the Billboard charts for 10 consecutive weeks and selling 1,133,505 in the first week – and 28 million copies worldwide. The album first week will end on November 26 and people can expect the result from Nielsen Music by November 29, Sunday after they have tabulated all the necessary data from the album sales record.
