Rooney, Martial return to Man United training
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal was full of praise for his players after they registered a vital 2-1 win away at Watford.

Deeney had previously equalised from the penalty spot with only three minutes left on the clock after Memphis Depay’s first-half opener.
Van Gaal also spoke about Manchester United’s title ambitions. I think Rooney is ill and illness is a matter of days, not weeks, so I do expect that he shall play Wednesday.
Martial has been a big hit at Old Trafford since his £36m move from Monaco, so it was something of a relief for United’s supporters when Van Gaal said the striker could return for Wednesday’s Champions League game against PSV. I did not play [Marcos] Rojo also because when you have jet-lag you can not play. But the Nigerian took too much time and fired wide.
Van Gaal has backed the Premier League’s decision to play the French national anthem before every game.
The Manchester Evening News reports that Phil Jones and Ander Herrera were both forced off during the victory over Watford, while the Mirror claims that Juan Mata also collected a knock at Vicarage Road. “Antonio Valencia was operated on and Luke Shaw you know, and now Jones and Herrera, I think, are not available for Wednesday”, Van Gaal told United’s official webiste.
“At half-time I said to remove the first half, the most important thing was that we want to play another match of 45 minutes”, Flores said. Tomorrow he comes and then I can say more.
“Each of us [at centre-half] have got our positive traits that we like to show in the games”.
United go to Watford fourth in the table, and have not conceded a goal in any of their last five matches, although goals have been hard to come by with only three scored.
Former Red Gary Neville, best friend of United assistant-manager Ryan Giggs, tweeted last week: ‘I would sign Ronaldo tomorrow.
Rooney missed the win at Watford through illness while Martial has a minor ankle problem.
“So you never know [with injuries]”.

But mention has to be made of the man who is fast emerging to be the best player on the Man United team – David de Gea, as he pulled off a few fantastic saves and kept his composure throughout.
