Rain, Freezing Rain Possible on Thanksgiving

Mostly sunny skies will dominate, with highs will reach 57 in the Upstate and 52 in the mountains.

Temperatures dipped below freezing briefly Monday morning in areas north of Houston as southeast Texas got socked by the coldest air of the fall season so far.

“‘Black ice’ could arrive by Thanksgiving morning in those inland locations with temperatures dropping to the upper 20s to low 30s on Wednesday night into Thanksgiving morning”, she said.

Wind and waves will pose a hazard to smaller craft on Lake Michigan through Friday night, forecasters warn.

Monday’s nighttime low is around 39 degrees with 100 percent chance of rain. So, travel problems may develop then and it will stay cold Saturday with a high of 35. Bay Area residents could well wake up Wednesday and see snow on the hightest peaks in the area. Between 1 and 2 inches of snow could accumulate by Thanksgiving morning in Denver and up to 3 inches in the foothills.
