Ball of fire… Turkey shot down a Russian fighter jet on Tuesday.
He said Russia’s restrictive measures against Turkey will be open-ended. The United States and other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation members, including Turkey, have promised to defend member countries against foreign attacks as if those attacks were made on their home soil.
He also said Turkey had not given assurances that “the culprits of the crime” will be punished.
“We are strategic partners…”
He said under Russian law the broad punitive steps could include halting joint economic projects, restricting financial and trade transactions and changing customs duties. “Are such approaches fitting for politicians?”, Erdogan said in a speech in Ankara. “Nobody has the right to dispute our country’s fight against Daesh or to incriminate us”.
At the same day the Turkey’s military invited Russian military officials to its headquarters to claim that the Turkish military didn’t know the nationality of the plane and the rules of engagement were automatically used.
Both Turkey and Russia are pushing their version of events following the shooting down of that Russian jet, reports CBS News correspondent Holly Williams. Moscow believes Ankara is shielding terrorist forces in Syria with the goal of continuing to smuggle oil across the border.
The former US Army commander further described Turkey as an internal threat to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, who “will only cooperate when they have to and they will get as much out of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation as they can” in terms of weapons and tactics.
Turkey said that they shot down the Russian warplane “near the Syrian border after repeated warnings over air space violations” but Russia said “it could prove the jet had not left Syrian air space”, according to Reuters. Russian Federation has continued its airstrikes in Syria.

In addition, the Russian state-run consumer protection body said it has concerns about the quality and safety of clothing and furniture imported from Turkey.
