Jack Garratt, singer/songwriter and producer, has been voted victor of the Brits 2016 critics’ choice award.
Garratt beat competition from soul diva Izzy Bizu and piano-based songwriter Frances to take the prize.
Jack will release his debut album Phase on February 19.
The recipient of the Brits critics’ choice award is selected by a panel comprising music industry experts including radio staff, and music editors of websites, magazines and newspapers.
Garratt, who will be the support act for Mumford & Sons on their upcoming tour, said: “It’s wonderful to be nominated for the Brits critics’ choice Award 2016”.
Izzy is now poised to release debut album in early 2016, and has recently released single White Tiger.
“To have been given this award is truly mind-blowing, considering I am one name in a hugely exciting time for music in this country”.
Since launching in 2008 the Critics’ Choice Award has identified British recording talent ahead of them finding fame. Jack will perform on the show, alongside Jess Glynne and Years & Years, artists who have both had an incredible year, each with a No. 1 debut album to their name!
