The Lumia 950 is the latest Lumia device and it shows some great promise. I see Windows 10 Mobile as a better option as a BYOD (bring your own device).

Today, Canadians who pre-ordered the Lumia 950 have received word from Microsoft that there will be a delay until at least December 14th – Microsoft is also showing this date on its site.
While the final United Kingdom price hasn’t yet been confirmed it’s expected to come in at just over £100 SIM free, making it remarkably cheap. “Enjoy a live demo of Continuum for Phones and watch the Lumia 950 and 950 XL turn an external screen into a PC-like experience”.
On the other hand, the recently unveiled Lumia 550 has a 4.7-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 with quad-core Cortex-A7 processor and Adreno 304 GPU. It can’t match the colours and brightness of the 950, but the display is good for the price of the phone.
Like in case of Sony Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium, the primary difference between the two models is also in terms of the display, with almost everything else remaining the same. Tech journalist Paul Thurrott says image quality is on par with that of an iPhone 6S, and low light performance is particularly impressive.
The camera stands in at 20MP along with a 5MP front snapper with a wide-angle lens.
Camera specs for both devices are the same: a 20 megapixel main rear camera and a 5 megapixel selfie shooter.
More than a year after launching its last high-end phones, Microsoft is all set to unveil its latest “flagship”, the Lumia 950 XL in India at a price of “around Rs 50,000” in India on Monday. Windows 10, though, is still largely untested in comparison to Android and iOs. With six or seven tabs open at the same time, it can feel like “the dial-up modem days”. According to Strategy Analytics, Windows tablet shipments jumped 58 percent in the first nine months of 2015, and with the holiday shopping season in view, they’ll reach 22 million shipments by the end of the year. The memory can be augmented, however, through the MicroSD card slot, which will accept cards up to a whopping 128GB in size.
The 950 has impressed and frustrated reviewers in equal measure.
The only real shortcoming is the lack of apps. This whole story comes together because of the universal Windows platform.
It may not be a Black Friday treat for fans, but Microsoft announced that the Lumia 950 XL will be made available in retail stores starting November 26.

That same strategy of getting Windows into any and all devices was the driver behind the growth of Microsoft’s Bing search engine last quarter too.
