South winds will return now through Thursday as lower level moisture returns across the area some through Wednesday. Cloudy, with a low around 59.

A 40 percent chance of rain is expected Saturday. A few showers will linger behind a strong cool front. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. Rain possible NW third late.

The system is developing in the far northwest of the U.S., bringing some heavy rainfall and snow to Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana through today and Wednesday. High near: 61. Winds: North 4-12 miles per hour. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

But the chance for rain increases during the week, beginning Tuesday night, with a 20 percent chance of showers.

Right now, it looks like the heaviest rain and most hard travel conditions, in our area anyway, will be Thursday night into Friday morning. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41. Any evening travels across the Mid-Atlantic are dry, and clear skies allow temperatures to quickly fall once more.

Monday night: A chance of snow.

Sunday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 38.
