Civil rights group leader presses for more Trump fallout

He’s moving a rally in Arizona on Saturday from the Biltmore Hotel to the Phoenix Convention Center because of high demand.

Trump’s Saturday rally in Phoenix is expected to draw thousands of people.

Outside, more than a hundred protesters waved signs accusing Trump and his guest speaker, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, of racism.

Trump’s speeches were filled with tangents and insults leveled at business partners such as Univision and NBC that have dropped him in the wake of his comments that Mexican immigrants bring drugs and crime to the USA and are rapists.

He also said that many people who work for Trump are Mexican-Americans, or could be undocumented, and that Trump has profited from their work.

“His persona is a mix of Ross Perot and Ronald Reagan”, Nunberg said in an interview Friday. “Others are free to speak out against his language of hate and disassociate themselves from a man who would turn the clock back on America’s progress toward embracing diversity and the contributions of our immigrants”.

For a few unscripted minutes, Trump strayed from his prepared remarks and invited Jamiel Shaw Sr.to the podium to relate the story of his son, who was fatally shot in 2008 in South Los Angeles by an immigrant in the country illegally.

Despite his attacks on Mexican people Trump is convinced that he will win the Hispanic vote.

His presence at the libertarian-oriented conference in Las Vegas was billed by the event’s emcee as the “perhaps the most controversial” speaker in Freedom Fest’s history. He also plans to hold a news conference in Las Vegas. I just hate to see when people don’t have common sense, don’t have an understanding of what’s going on….

Jan Brewer, the ex- Republican governor of Arizona, the heart of the illegal immigration debate with its 400 miles of land bordering Mexico said her experience as the state’s executive confirms Mr. Trump’s assertions on crime and illegal immigration.

“I wonder if the Mexican government sent them over here”, Trump said of his critics.

When asked by an audience member about Russian relations, Trump said the problem is that Putin doesn’t respect Obama.

“And whether it’s Mexico or other countries, they look at it very differently and very intelligently”, he said.

McCain, in a lengthy statement issued Friday, said, “If the Republican nominee for president does not support comprehensive immigration reform and border security policy, we have no chance of defeating Hillary Clinton and winning the White House in 2016″. They point out that “when challenged on the inaccuracy, outrageousness and viciousness of his remarks”, Trump simply attacks those who challenge him calling them unpatriotic and claims that he is the only one with the courage to tell the truth.
