He nailed back-to-back three’s at the 7:48 mark and the 7:11 mark to create separation in what was a back and forth affair to that point, extending the Notre Dame lead from 22-21 to 28-21 before the Irish led by eight at the end of the first period.

The Hawks’ loss was 101-90 to USC, which beat No. 20 Wichita State 72-69 on Thursday in another first-round game.
