Putin: Russia, France agree to work together more against IS
Hollande underlined that “from France’s view, it’s clear that Assad does not have his place in Syria’s future”, while Putin said that the Syrian leader’s future “should be at the hands of the Syrian people”.

But the French leader failed to gain any pledge from Putin over helping the US-led coalition which is targeting ISIL, according to AFP.
Hollande on Thursday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the hope of convincing Russia to work alongside the 65-member coalition fighting the Islamic State in Syria.
Russian President, Vladimir Putin on Thursday praised efforts by his French counterpart, Francois Hollande to set up a coalition to fight the Islamic State terrorist militia.
“The two leaders agreed on three major points: to share intelligence, intensify and coordinate strikes and not to strike any group fighting ISIS”.
Russian Federation insists it did not violate Turkish airspace, and has paraded a pilot who survived.
Russian Federation says it’s preparing economic sanctions against Turkey.
“Vienna talks can not go ahead productively without such a list of terrorists and a list of opposition groups”, Lavrov said, adding that the lists should be vetted by the U.N. Security Council.
Putin called the attack from Turkey as “a stab in the back”. Russia is a major destination for Turkish exports and Turkey imports vast amounts of Russian gas.
Protesters in Moscow hurled eggs and stones at the Turkish Embassy on Wednesday, breaking windows in the compound.
Germany, meanwhile, has made a decision to send reconnaissance aircraft, tanker planes and a warship to help in the fight against ISIS. “Our positions are the same and we should join forces in fighting terrorists”, said Putin.
The decision still needs parliamentary approval, but it was expected to not meet much resistance by lawmakers.
Hollande’s hard task became even more arduous after Turkey shot down a Russian warplane near the Syrian border on Tuesday.
According to New York Times, France would avoid the conflict’s escalation between Russian Federation and Turkey, as a French diplomatic official told them as an anonimate.
That process faces enormous hurdles, including the fate of President Bashar Assad and agreeing on which armed factions in Syria should be allowed to take part in negotiations.
He also said the worldwide coalition is focusing on oil convoys from the group’s territory, which provide a crucial source of income. He is laying out his case in the House of Commons before deciding whether to call a vote. The military will also be sending fighter jets to escort bombers over Syria, use electronic countermeasures and other means to prevent any hostile action in the future, he said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights put the death toll at 12, including the five children.
They had no immediate word on casualties. The agency claimed the casualties and destruction were caused by Russian airstrikes that targeted civilian areas.
“I have come to Moscow to work out how we… should react, to find a way to coordinate our actions against the terrorists, but also to seek a political solution for Syria”, Hollande said. “Faced with the same violation today, Turkey would give the same response”, he said. “President Hollande will talk to us in greater detail about it. We would be ready to seriously consider the necessary measures for this”, Lavrov said.
He’s likely to decide after Thursday’s Commons debate whether to hold a vote next week. “It’s the result that matters, destroying Daesh (the Arabic acronym for Islamic State)”.
