Thanksgiving NFL spreads on the move
Are you watching or playing football?

The Thanksgiving game was a hit. Only at that time the league was called the American Professional Football Association.
Yale and Princeton started a Thanksgiving series in 1876. The Lions sold the game out, and they have played on Thanksgiving ever since with the exception of World War II years.

A pair of undefeated teams will meet at AT&T Stadium. That way, everyone gets to celebrate Thanksgiving at home.
Is Thanksgiving turning into an all-NFC affair in the NFL?
That’s something the Lions don’t know how to do very well, especially on Thanksgiving.
Why isn’t the National Basketball Association a part of Thanksgiving tradition? Unless a morning game is added from London, the current situation seems to be set for the long term. It is still special on the years the Packers travel to Detroit.
Upstart leagues always tried out Thanksgiving.
First off, happy Thanksgiving everyone.
But you say the NFL’s games are “tradition” compared to retailers’ crass commercialism? But Dallas has not hosted every year since. When the chance to take the field on Thanksgiving arose in 1966, it might not have been a huge benefit for the Cowboys. In his most recent outing, he threw two touchdowns to help his team stop a three-game losing streak, which included a defeat against one of the league’s worst teams at the time, the Detroit Lions. The Lions are 35-38-2.
This could play into the hands of Denver’s defense, which will assuredly try to blanket tight end Rob Gronkowski. Chip Kelly might not make it past this season and whether Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchize, or 1988 Randall Cunningham start for Philly, it is not going to go well.
The Panthers-Cowboys matchup is the main event, the turkey of today’s lineup. Doesn’t that put you in the Thanksgiving spirit? The Lions are just 3-7, but have won their last two games. Take the Bears with the points.
The final game of the day has the Green Bay Packers hosting the Chicago Bears. The Bengals impressed me in Arizona. I’ve picked both of these teams several times this season, and they both always burn me. Redskins 31 Giants 24.
The NFC East is up for grabs and the Eagles and Cowboys will be battling for their postseason spots on Thursday. And yet, success still attainable. The Falcons are hopeful to get running back Devonta Freeman back following a concussion.
New Orleans Saints at Houston Texans: The Texans are on the move, the Saints can’t find a direction to go.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Indianapolis Colts: Indianapolis better prepare for this game as if it were a playoff.
Oakland Raiders over Tennessee Titans: The Titans are awful at home, even the Raiders can beat them.
Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs begin their race to the finish line with what might be one of the easiest schedules remaining. But the Panthers’ defense helping the offense out. In fact they hosted the first two.
San Diego Chargers @ Jacksonville Jaguars- The Jaguars continue to impress. By using short passes, which running backs James White and LeGarrette Blount will most assuredly receive, the Patriots have found success despite a rushing game that is 28th in the league. Some teams may not lead the scoreboard, but they can still be a profitable bet. You hear about them but never see them.
Cardinals (-10.5) at 49ers: The 49ers might be the worst team in the NFL. Seattle is two game back from a wild card, while Pittsburgh is just a game ahead of a handful of teams. No one is excited about playing the 5-5 Seahawks. Sorry, but I’ll catch up to the Brock Osweiler Bandwagon later.

Nothing blows up a pickup football game quicker than not agreeing to rules before starting the game. All the Raven stars are out, including Joe Flacco.
