Black Lives Matter Protesters Shot in Minneapolis

Lingering in the crowd were four people who seemed out of place. They were asked to leave. On Tuesday, five people were shot and injured about a block from the protests. Twitter feeds, using the hashtags #Justice4Jamar and #FourthPrecinctShutdown that they’d been using all week, lit up the Internet with theories of the shooters’ identities and police involvement.

The incident reportedly occurred during a protest over the death of 24-year-old Jamar Clark, who was fatally shot on November 15. All had injuries that were not life-threatening. A 26-year-old white man and a 21-year-old white man are now being interviewed by investigators. Activists are keeping up pressure for more information about the shooting death of Clark by a Minneapolis police officer. Drew Evans, superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, said that authorities were still working to determine whether Clark was handcuffed when he died.

The prosecutor’s office also said Tuesday that a case in the shooting of Clark would be presented to a grand jury.

Psychotherapist Felicia Washington Sy has also joined the protests after the shooting incident.

“We ain’t scared. We can’t back down”.

However, after Monday night’s shooting, Clark’s brother Eddie Sutton urged protesters to end the encampment.

Activists have questioned Hodges’s leadership during the ongoing protests, asking her to to visit with protesters at the precinct. Black Lives Matter protesters say white supremacists cruise by, shoot video and scope out the crowds.

It wasn’t immediately clear what prompted the shooting or how many suspects police were searching for.

A video of unknown origin and authenticity circulated online Friday, purporting to show two white men in a vehicle, displaying a pistol they said was “locked and loaded”, claiming they were en route to the Minneapolis protest.

Two suspects have been apprehended in connection with Monday night’s shootings at Black Lives Matter protesters in the U.S. state of Minneapolis, police officials say. Some made racist comments.

Arradondo said no one was in custody.

One of the wounded protesters returned to the scene. The original Livestream upload has since been deleted, but the footage remains available on BLM Minneapolis’s Facebook page.

Grimm said concerns were brought up to police, but protesters felt the threats were not being taken seriously.

One of the gunmen was wearing a mask and “shouting the ‘n-word, ‘ ” Noor said.

“We Are here for Jamar”, one mentioned, according to Henry Habu, who had been providing protection for the demonstrators. “It is time to restore order to the Northside community along Plymouth Avenue and James, which has endured open gun fire, traffic and service interruptions, smog from open wood fires, hours of helicopter noise and negative media narrative due to the protest vigil”.

Meanwhile, Clark’s family is calling for supporters to move on to “the next step” in response to the shooting. After running about another half block, the suspects started shooting.
