Blackhawks send Sharp to Stars in 4-player deal

Finally, the deal was done on Friday night, as the Stars first revealed on Periscope.

What do you think of the trade? The key thing for us was trying to make our team better in the process.

The 31-year-old Daley spent the first 11 seasons of his career with the Stars. The Stars add him to a team that finished second in the National Hockey League in scoring last season, averaging 3.13 goals per game.

Now that Sharp and his $5.9 million dollar salary are off the books, the Hawks will have some more wiggle room to get under the $71.4 million dollar salary cap.

Johns, 23, was expected to bid for a roster spot next season. Paliotta was a “black ace” who lifted the Cup with the rest of Chicago’s scratches. They were 40/1 before acquiring Sharp from Chicago and are now 25/1 to win the 2016 Stanley Cup. Klas Dahlbeck. Heck, throw Nick Leddy on there.

Timonen announced his retirement before his last game. Klas Dahlbeck went to Arizona in the Antoine Vermette deal.

“It’s awesome to see the turnaround of the organization”, Sharp said. “He brings an element of size and physicality to our mix and we look forward to him coming in and competing”. We have other players that are over here that have made a positive impact on us.

“It’s an ever-changing game”. After some preamble in which both Strader and Razor seemed a little “are you for real?” the players involved were revealed. But at the same time, you must understand that Bowman did not have much of a choice. They get back a veteran defenseman in Daley who, if sheltered properly, could be less of an on-ice liability than what’s he’s been with the Stars. All we can say is welcome to Dallas, Patrick!

It’s tough to cast even a shadow of doubt in Bowman’s direction given his fistful of Stanley Cup rings.

Sharp had experienced the bottom of the barrel in terms of excitement in Chicago.

Sharp was different than the rest.

The fact they were just one game away from the peak doesn’t begin to tell the story though.

And Sharp’s role in those three championships can’t be ignored.

Playing in parts of 12 National Hockey League seasons with Philadelphia and Chicago, he has appeared in 745 career regular-season games posting 526 career points (249-277=526). It must have felt like the end of a long road for Sharp.

[MORE: Stan Bowman – Blackhawks add pieces that “could help us now”]. “He was a huge part of us winning our first Stanley Cup in Chicago”. But we’re not there yet.

“Are you trying to make me cry?”

The voting is in for the final All-Stars. “It”™s still sort of a fluid situation, and there are a lot of factors at play. Same with Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook and Marian Hossa. Deals today never are.

The move helps the Blackhawks save an estimated $6.7 million next season. He ended up leading the postseason that year with 10 goals and 91 shots on goal as the Blackhawks won their second Stanley Cup. “Sometimes that gets lost in pro sports, all the off-ice stuff that the Blackhawks have allowed me to do, whether it’s interacting with fans, helping out in a charitable way or just being a member of the city of Chicago and representing the Blackhawks”. “We like our team as it is right now”.
