Obama Thanksgiving message on refugees
Spokesman for the Texas commission Bryan Black said the state will continue to follow the instructions of governor Greg Abbott, who has called for Texas to withdraw from participation in the resettlement of Syrian refugees.

Referring to safety considerations, Obama stated in Thursday’s message that “individuals ought to keep in mind that no refugee can enter our borders till they bear the very best safety checks of anybody travelling to america”. Several of the attackers traveled to Syria to fight with the Islamic State prior to the attacks.
Obama said another woman from Pennsylvania also wrote to him saying, “Money is tight for us in my household”. You plan an important role in the refugee resettlement program.
Meriden said calls to stop Syrian refugee resettlement reflect a misunderstanding of the Syrian conflict by Americans.
Meriden told Hashtag VOA that she expects to get a response from the Maryland governor soon. The horrors of modern terrorism are frightening, but they demand from us a strong renewal of our faith and our commitment to Christian teachings and the common good.
Hogan’s office has not commented on the matter.
“What makes America America is that we offer that chance”, he added. “That’s part of what makes this the greatest country on Earth”. “Based on that, we’re very comfortable receiving these families, which by the way, are mostly women and children”, Canny said.
For months, millions of refugees have been fleeing from war-torn Syria. The International Rescue Committee in Dallas said last week that it would consider looking outside of the state for support, if need be.
Christopher Roederer, a professor of law and director of global programs at the Florida Coastal School of Law, says governors have no authority to refuse the entry of anyone into their states. Resettlement agencies also try to place people where there’s an existing immigrant community from the same country, people who share the refugees’ cultural background and language.
There are no Syrian refugees in Vermont, but a small number are expected.

Burden or benefit to society?
The notification came in a letter dated Wednesday from the director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (OPR) to state resettlement agencies. The U.S. costs primarily include government fees to resettlement groups that pay for refugee housing, transportation and other expenses, as well as welfare payments to refugees themselves.
The bill, defying a veto threat by President Obama, would suspend President Barack Obama’s program to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees in the next year, as well as strengthen the process of screening for refugees from both Syria and Iraq.

The letter reassured states, as President Obama has been trying to do nearly daily, that refugees are subject to a thorough screening process before they enter the country.
