Denver Broncos Peyton Manning Out Two Weeks

The soonest Manning could return is the Broncos’ 13th game, December 13 against the Oakland Raiders at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. In fact, they were one missed two-point conversion away from having the game go into overtime. The quarterback will now be out for at least two more games after the Broncos just received more bad news.

November 24: The Broncos release a statement that Manning will miss “at least a couple of games”.

His torn plantar fascia is nothing to mess around with either.

Manning has more career completions, attempts, yards and touchdowns than Brady, but the Patriots quarterback could even overtake those numbers if his prediction is true that he has seven or eight more years left in his 38-year-old arm.

There are those who believe that this now marks the beginning of the Gary Kubiak era in the Denver.

According to Mason, Manning will “spend at least the next week in a walking cast” and resume additional rehabilitation after that time.

Left guard Evan Mathis also hasn’t practiced this week because of the sprained right ankle he suffered late in the Broncos’ 17-15 win at Chicago on Sunday.

Peyton and I had a good visit today, and we’ve got a plan in place for his recovery.

Manning will be able to attend meetings and some workouts this week, Kubiak said. In his first three years in Denver, he totaled 136 TD throws and just 36 interceptions. But as this is the second opportunity for the Broncos to knock a team from the ranks of the unbeaten – at home, in prime time – there’s a little extra juice going into this one.

The award represents the first conference recognition of his career and the first AFC Offensive Player of the Week honor for the Broncos this season. They picked up their eighth win of the season Sunday as they defeated the Chicago Bears 17-15 in a well fought battle.

Asked what allows his team to overcome the challenges of being banged up in a short week, Brady said: “Mental toughness – that’s what it comes down to”.

For the first time it’s going to be Brady vs. Osweiler Sunday night when Denver plays host to New England.

Two Panthers suspended • The NFL has announced that Carolina Panthers backup defensive end Wes Horton has been suspended without pay for the team’s next four games for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances. The Broncos offense looked much better than it has in recent weeks with Osweiler starting and Kubiak will have a major decision to make if the Broncos keep winning.
