One, Corey Morgan, has been arrested, another was already in jail on unrelated gun charges, and a third is still unaccounted for.

McCarthy said they believe that Edwards, the wanted suspect, was still in the area and urged the man to turn himself in.
Commissioner McCarthy believes 9-year-old Lee’s death was related to his father’s gang affiliations.
The planned demonstration – which coincides with the busy “Black Friday” shopping day in the U.S. – comes three days after police released video footage showing Jason Van Dyke shooting the teenager 16 times.
“They are going to be obliterated”, he said of the gangs involved in the November 2 execution of Tyshawn. He had an iPhone charger and a watch on him when he died, but no phone, the report said.
“Tyshawn Lee was murdered in probably the most abhorrent, cowardly, unfathomable crime that I’ve witnessed in 35 years of policing”, McCarthy told reporters earlier this month as police searched for tips. It is unclear if that suspect is Dwight Boone-Doty, who was arrested with Morgan earlier this month when the two men were found in Oak Lawn, Ill., with loaded.40-caliber semi-automatic handguns.
McCarthy called Tyshawn’s death “a crime that shook our city and quite frankly was an act of barbarism”. McCarthy said that the police still needed to work out details of what happened next, such as who pulled the trigger and who drove the getaway auto. Corey Morgan is in custody on afirst-degree murder charge and is one of at least three people authorities have linked to Lee’s murder.
Investigators don’t know whether any of the men involved in his death knew the 9-year-old personally. The Morgans’ mother was also shot in the arm during the attack. “This was clearly not a case of ‘no snitching, ‘” McCarthy said.
The arrest comes amid protests throughout Chicago over the 2014 police shooting death of a 16-year-old.
The other, Kevin Edwards, is still at-large. “Who drove the vehicle, who was on the scene, Who pulled the trigger, is all being worked on”, McCarthy said.

“We’re going to assign resources”, McCarthy said, “to ensure that neither one of those gangs can raise (their) head again”.
