LeBron James, James Jones lead players-only meeting after loss
Underneath the Hornets are the Atlanta Hawks who have played more matches so far this season. The Raptors beat the Cavaliers 103-99.

“You’ve got to have talent, man. You gotta have talent”.
The Toronto Raptors continue their annual “Drake Night” tradition when they face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in the city of Toronto. Kevin Love added 21 points and 13 rebounds, his ninth double-double. What matters most for the former MVP is that they should be consistent no matter what situation comes to the team.
Kemba Walker, coming off a 39-point game Monday night in Charlotte’s overtime win over Sacramento, added 16 points, and Marvin Williams and Al Jefferson each had 14 points and 11 rebounds. That simply wont cut it against the cream of the crop of the East. If the Toronto Raptors want to prove to the league that they can hang with the big boys, they need to play hard the whole game because once Cleveland goes on a run it is very likely they’ll let them back in the game without putting up a fight.
“We’re excited about the win, no question about that” said Casey, never one to get lost in philosophical discussions of universal forces and interpersonal physics. I thought we just ran out of gas. Drake did the best he could, but I’m just going to assume he didn’t pen his own lines – no shots – for this one. It’s not an excuse just an observation.
“It’s not an excuse”, he said.
Biyombo, taking the place of an injured Jonas Valanciunas, scored six points over the final 2:29. Biyombo being the only real threat on the glass, the Raptors team did a great job to gobble up their rebounds. And hopefully a lot of that was weeded out at the said players-only meeting. “Protecting the paint, talking, being physical, being a deterrent at the rim and that was big for us”.
“It’s a focus, it’s a mentality that we have that we put on display sporadically, but it’s something that we have to do consistently”, Jones said.
The Cavaliers were down 82-80 entering the fourth quarter when the Raptors pulled away. Williams played 32 minutes and made seven of his 12 shots from the field in his return to the lineup after missing three straight games with a lower leg injury.
The Toronto Raptors’ dance team performed prior to tip-off on Wednesday aka Drake Night. They ended the first tied 25-25, and would go up 35-25 early in the second.
Perfectionism is good, and James expected the Cavaliers to be better than 11-4 at this point, maybe checking what the Golden State Warriors are doing all the time to try and compare between the two teams.
Ticket holders will also get limited edition OVO x Raptors sweatshirts. “We’ve got to understand that it is our guys versus everyone else, versus the fans, versus the opposing group”.

The Grammy victor had the pleasure of introducing the starters before the game and could not help injecting a bit of his famous humour into the announcements. Drake’s description pre-game of his Night could have covered the entire competitive experience: “It’s definitely surreal”.
