The Bears’ defeated the Green Bay Packers 17-13 on Thursday night behind stellar play from their defense and an efficient game from quarterback Jay Cutler.
The Goats: Rodgers’ stats didn’t look much like usual, as his receivers were dropping balls in the wet conditions. McCarthy said it “wasn’t even a rub play” involving James Jones and Randall Cobb that led to the penalty on Jones and ultimately forced the Packers to kick a field goal.

At halftime on a rainy, sloppy holiday night at Lambeau Field, screaming, drenched Packers fans watched in delight as their legendary quarterback, Brett Favre, the man they once booed when he returned to this very field in a Vikings uniform in 2009, had his retired number unveiled during a touching and heartfelt ceremony.

Pass blocking struggled to cope with the usual Green Bay slot blitz, but the screen game delivered ball control and Cutler maintained a 90.8 passer rating, finding Alshon Jeffery seven times for 90 yards and Marc Mariani three times for 35 yards to extend drives. Lacy averaged 6.2 yards per carry against the Bears, bowling over defenders easily.
Bryant, in his eighth National Football League season, spent his first six with the Seattle Seahawks, who drafted him in the fourth round out of Texas in 2008. In the second quarter, he fumbled at the end of a 15-yard run. The Bears main focus should be how they can build on this game and finish the rest of the season strong, not on the playoffs. After all, nine touchdown passes and two interceptions during the Packers’ 1-4 record in November paints a picture that little blame should lie with him.

The Bears had three-and-out punts on four of their first five possessions but took over at the Packers’ 34-yard line in middle of the second quarter when Prosinski stripped Lacy from behind, with Houston recovering.
