Louis Van Gaal Proud Of Manchester United Team After ‘Amazing’ Display Against
“When you can do that as a team then I am very proud that I am the manager”.

Louis van Gaal has given Luke Shaw permission to stay away from Manchester United’s match against PSV in case he feels it will reopen the psychological wounds of his leg break in Eindhoven. “I always enjoy it and I have to deal with being one of the oldest players and having a lot of experience but I have to say this team does really well, everyone fights for their team-mates and we try to improve every week”.
He told BT Sport, (via Espn FC), “I was amazed by the spirit in our team. So I had to change the system”.
“Each of us [at centre-half] have got our positive traits that we like to show in the games”. The way we played, it suits them.
“You always have to give the best until the referee’s whistle, there was also a little bit of luck [with the winning goal] but we are happy that we made three points as here it is very hard to play”.
After weeks of criticism Memphis will finally earn some praise after an impressive performance, which earned him the official man of the match award.
United’s primary failing this season has been in the final third and their attacking prospects at Vicarage Road were not helped by a shortage of strikers, with Wayne Rooney ill, James Wilson lacking fitness and Anthony Martial out with a foot injury. While at the other end, Jesse Lingard failed to capitalise on a fine United move, with his shot saved by Heurelho Gomes.
It became more hard for United once Herrera went off and Van Gaal was forced into a reshuffle. I know some people think our positional game is boring but I think it is a way to disorganise the opponent’s organisation.
Van Gaal will again be without Michael Carrick while Ander Herrera and Phil Jones, who both picked up injuries in the win at Watford, will not be available for selection on Wednesday. “It is not so heavy as the media has written but you never know, we have to wait and see”.
Watford finally got the equaliser their second-half dominance deserved, when Deeney slammed a penalty past de Gea after Marcos Rojo had inexplicably pulled down Ighalo in the area.

“We have a lot of injuries now so we have to adapt to that”.
