Jerry Jones: Tony Romo done for season with hairline fracture in clavicle

Romo went down on the final play of the third quarter on Thursday as the Cowboys took on the Carolina Panthers in a Thanksgiving matchup. Sitting at 3-8, not many Dallas fans are going to buy tickets to see a pathetic Cassel led offense, unless they bought their tickets already and are stuck with their purchase, in which case they are probably trying to sell their tickets with the Cowboys playoff hopes ending against the Panthers. “That’s what I did today, and I have to live with that”. The teams former back-up quarterback Brandon Weeden was claimed by the Houston Texans after being released by the Cowboys once Romo returned to the team last week.

Romo injured the same shoulder in week two against the Philadelphia Eagles and missed the following seven games. “[Romo] is a warrior”.

The Cowboys spent the offseason building a team they thought could end a 20-year championship drought. Obviously we don’t know the circumstances just yet, on what the prognosis is, but for everybody’s sake, we hope he’s OK.

During a radio interview on KRLD-FM radio in Dallas, Jones said that Romo suffered a hairline fracture that will not require surgery.

Romo will not undergo surgery as he attempts to return ahead of the 2016 campaign.

Tony Romo’s season is done.

The Cowboys lost all seven games that Romo missed with a broken left collarbone before winning in his return at Miami last week. But that vanished in a flash four days later when Romo was again walking off the field holding his left arm up against his chest.

Gano added a 43-yard field goal with 3:27 left in the first half following a drive that went 48 yards in 10 plays and 5:48, and that pushed the score to 13-3. “I kind of messed up in some of the run game and I was dealing with staying focused and what position I was, so I was overthinking it”, said Funchess, whose strength – other than his size – is the ability to play all three receiver spots.

Once a bone like that is broken the chances of re-breaking it increase. “I have a lot of confidence in this team”. I know Tony wanted it so bad and sometimes you push. There should be no debate that Romo has been a fantastic quarterback.

Sadly, the season can’t end too soon.

“I was amped for him”, the Vikings cornerback said Friday. “We felt that the risk was worth the potential of having him be the impact that he can be and is on our team and really having a fairy-tale turnaround and doing something that was special”.

While Tony Romo is gone, Matt Cassel will be set to take his slot on the Cowboy’s roster.

The concern in recent seasons has been Romo’s back. A follow-up check-up on the collarbone is expected later this week and could decide the status of Romo.
