The Palestinians hurled firebombs and stones at troops, according to the army.
The Palestinian health ministry said the dead man was 51.
Israeli forces shot and killed two Palestinians after they allegedly rammed their cars into soldiers in separate attacks in the West Bank on Friday as the Israeli defense minister urged Israelis to brace themselves for more violence, saying he can not see an end to the alleged Palestinian attacks.
According to the military, the attacker wounded two IDF officers and four soldiers.
Twenty-one Israelis have also been killed.
Ninety-seven Palestinians have been killed in violence since October 1, including an Israeli Arab.
It’s the latest attack in a two-month wave of violence.
A third Palestinian, aged 20, was shot by Israeli forces during clashes in al-Arroub refugee camp near Hebron, and died in hospital, the ministry said.
A flash visit to Israel and the Palestinian territories by US Secretary John Kerry on Tuesday, aimed at quelling the violence, has not shown any sign of success. “We intend to build a more massive fence similar to the fence on the Egyptian border”.
Palestinian officials said a 21-year-old man was killed.
Several hours later, another Palestinian was shot dead after driving his vehicle into a group of soldiers, injuring five close to Beit Ummar settlement near Hebron in the southern West Bank, an army spokesman said.
Abbas demanded that the United States put pressure on Israel to “stop its aggression and provocations against the Palestinians”, the official said.
