Russian Federation however said no warning had been given and that the aircraft did not violate Turkish airspace.
Russian President Vladimir Putin raises his glass for a toast during the luncheon at the United Nations General Assembly in New York September 28, 2015.
But, he added: “We very sincerely recommend to Russian Federation not to play with fire”.
The downing of the plane sparked a crisis in relations between the two countries, with Russian President Vladimir Putin calling it a “stab in the back” and demanding an apology from the Turkish leadership.
Also on Friday, Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said Ankara had crossed the line by shooting down the plane and warned the incident could severely undermine Turkey’s interests.
“The request has also been transmitted to the president”, Peskov said without clarifying whether the meeting would take place.
Erdogan, whose ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) won a landslide election victory earlier this month, said Turkey did not “deliberately” shoot down the plane.
“Our enemy is Daesh, Islamic State, it has territory, an army and resources, so we must create this large coalition to hit these terrorists”, Hollande said in televised remarks at the start of bilateral talks with the Russian leader in the Kremlin.
One of the pilots was shot dead in Syria after parachuting out of the burning plane while the second was found safe and sound, but one Russian soldier was killed in a rescue operation.

Ankara “risks putting Turkey in a most severe situation, with respect to both its long-term national interests and the situation in the region”, he said.
