According to our good friend, “a person familiar with the matter”, who has spoken to both Reuters and The Wall Street Journal, Samsung is planning on changing its strategy to short-circuit Apple’s yearly iPhone launch.

Earlier, reports suggested that the Galaxy Note 5 will probably be the company’s first dual edged phablet following the success of the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone earlier this year. The Latinos Post detailed some of the rumored features and specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S7 including its reported crystal-clear 4K Super AMOLED display that shall be highlighted by the emergence of 4K technology on the device and other Samsung products henceforth. It’s important to note that this resolution is the same as last year’s model, though Samsung could be looking to improve on its predecessor’s performance, which would be a major boost for VR experiences.
Last year, Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4 lost the battle with the iPhone 6 Plus, which was the company’s first ever phablet.
The Note 5 will feature a 64bit Exynos 7422 chipset, which is referred to as ePoP and it is an all-in-one chip that contains the processor (most likely octa core), graphics, 3GB of RAM and the storage.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note range has been hugely successful for the company despite many people initially scoffing at the original version which at the time had a screen that was much bigger than anything else on the market. Samsung has announced each new Note in early September at the IFA expo in Berlin for the past several years.
