Cowboys’ Romo done for season

Not that the Cowboys had much of a chance this season anyways.

On Thursday, the Dallas Cowboys lost more than just the game to the Carolina Panthers-they also lost quarterback Tony Romo for the rest of the season.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, with his left arm in a sling, leaves a press conference after the 33-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina Panthers coach Ron Rivera looked up at the enormous videoboard in Dallas on Thursday to see what went wrong during a run that matched the Cowboys’ longest of the game.

“At this point, Case has been limited in practice and we’ve got him listed as questionable”, Fisher said.

The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2015 National Football League season with great odds at making the playoffs, and were actually the third best odds in the NFC to make it to the Super Bowl, after only the Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. “It had a similar-type feeling”.

Tony Romo’s season is over.

Cowboys coach, Jason Garrett, said Romo’s X-rays are still inconclusive and that he would need to undergo further medical examinations come Friday.

Matt Cassel replaced Romo in the fourth quarter, completing 13 of 19 passes for 93 yards and a late touchdown, and is in line to assume the starting role versus Washington.

“Kurt had that big pick and really set the tone”.

Before Romo’s injury, he did manage to get enough of a drive going to get another Bailey field goal with 7:47 left in the third quarter. “(Cornerback) Bené (Benwikere) laid a good block on someone, and I was able to scurry in there”.

A CT scan Friday morning confirmed what the Cowboys feared Thanksgiving night after Romo was sacked on the final play of the third quarter and fell hard on his left shoulder.

Romo went on injured reserve with a designation to return after the first injury, and the Cowboys couldn’t win without him. Dallas went winless in seven games after that in which Romo did not play. His quarterback rating of 27.2 was the second worst of his career, surpassed only by a 22.2 rating in a three-interception meltdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007. Some of the decisions and poor decisions that I made were just uncharacteristic and very frustrating and cost our team today. I needed to take a little more time. Cassel threw for a touchdown in garbage time but still only has five touchdown passes and five interceptions on the season.

Aaron Rodgers’ throw to the end zone deflected off receiver Davante Adams’ hands in the cold rain. In the receiving end, Devin Funchess had 64 yards and one touchdown in four receptions while Jerricho Cotchery added 57 yards in four catches. Brett Favre’s number-4 was retired at halftime. Jeremy Langford had a rushing score as Chicago improved to 5-and-6. The Cowboy’s next opponent will be the Redskins on December 7.
