Developing: Jahlil Okafor involved in a fight

Okafor told reporters he knows now that he should have just walked away.

Okafor could face a suspension either by the team or the league. But I’m not happy about it at all.

“In the melee, Okafor tumbles to the ground and a man in a green jacket tries to punch the 6’11” superstar in the back of the head”.

“We are aware of the report and we are now working to gather additional information”, the Sixers said in a statement.

Okafor, 19, who was the Sixers’ top pick (third overall) in June’s NBA Draft out of Duke, is part of a Philadelphia team that has lost its first 16 games of the season.

Unfortunately for the Sixers, they again failed to provide an affirming answer despite heading into the final minutes against Boston Celtics on Wednesday in the lead.

It’s even tougher to be Jahlil Okafor, the Philadelphia 76ers rookie big man.

Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor allegedly was involved in an altercation outside a Boston nightclub late Wednesday night.

This is a change from earlier reports Friday, which said the Boston police wasn’t planning on investigating the incident.

The Inquirer, citing police, confirmed that a 911 call was made for said fight, but everyone had fled by the time officers arrived at the scene. “You’ll never win a game.’ I was around the corner when it happened”, the source said.

The victim said Okafor “struck him with a closed fist and knocked him to the ground”, and he suffered a cut above his eye, which required stitches, police said. “There is a process going on and I’m not allowed to talk about it. I’m sorry”.

As per espn.com, Okafor actually spoke about 76ers’ highly scrutinized strategy of “tanking” and keep drafting.

Reportedly, a Boston Celtics fan was harassing him, telling him that the “Sixers suck”.

The 76ers will have the chance to win their first game of the season today, Friday, when they visit the struggling Houston Rockets. He is averaging over 18 points a game with over eight rebounds per contest to this point.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a pitiful 0-16 to start the 2015-2016 regular season and the stress of failure has apparently gotten to their promising rookie, Jahil Okafor.
