Sanchez stars in Arsenal win

Sanchez laid on Mesut Ozil’s first half opener at the Emirates Stadium, then struck himself before the interval and wrapped up the points with his second goal in the closing stages.

Reacting to the win, Kanu urged the players not to relent in their effort.

“It is about trying to make sure we curtail them as much as we possibly can, but also to try and expose the weaknesses that they have got. It is a must-win for us and the task is very clear”.

Wenger, however, does not feel it is the right time to rest the Chilean as Arsenal look to maintain their good start to the 2015/16 campaign when they face Norwich City on Sunday.

“We spent almost £40m on Ozil and I still consider him a bargain because the player is top quality”. Stretching back to 2011, the Canaries have won their last six home Premier League matches in the month, the last defeat a 2-1 reverse against, you guessed it, Arsenal – City’s goal coming courtesy of Steve Morison in a match also televised.

The north Londoners must win by at least a two-goal margin or win by a one-goal margin having scored three or more goals, and Wenger is convinced they will rise to the challenge.

“When we made the decision there was some road work planned – sometimes the access to Norwich is hard”, Wenger insisted.

There was positive news as well for Francis Coquelin, who injured a knee ligament against West Brom, with Wenger confirming the midfielder would not need surgery.

“We are in a position where we want to do something”.

Ella Gilbert, a spokesman for Plane Stupid and an Arsenal fan, was not happy with the Gunnners’s brief stint in the sky, wishing they had kept their feet firmly on the ground!

“I’m unsure that eleven is able to going there and getting the end result they want”, Gerrard advised BT Sport.

However, if their away record in Greece is anything to go by, they might struggle to beat the Piraeus-based side.

Confidence now coursing through their veins, there was noticeably more swagger about Arsenal’s play and within four minutes they had doubled their lead.
