Like many Hawks fan, I would love to see Toews drop the likes of Ryan Kesler or Joe Thornton or David Backes. Chicago’s comeback on Friday was nothing short of remarkable.

The Detroit Red Wings edged the Edmonton Oilers 4-3 in overtimes thanks to Niklas Kronwall. Chicago learned its lesson and made sure that didn’t happen again on Friday, as the Blackhawks generated an early opportunity in overtime before Anisimov was able to bank in the game-winner by Gibson. This is a rematch of the Western Conference finals from last season. The teams will only face each other one more time this season, when they meet back in Chicago in February.
