Bayern Munich are confident head coach Pep Guardiola will extend his deal at the Allianz Arena before Christmas, according to the Daily Mirror.

Should Guardiola get a hint of Wenger deciding enough is enough at the end of next season, he could elect to remain with Bayern for one more year before moving to Arsenal.

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has confirmed that the club will hand Bastian Schweinsteiger a farewell match when he chooses to hang up his boots. We have always said there will be a decision in 2015.

Speaking after the Champions League win over Olympiakos that secured their qualification to the next stage, Bayern boss Pep Guardiola admitted he was impressed with his side and believes they are in a good place at the moment.

Indeed a source who knows him well told The Daily Telegraph that it was likely that the Premier League would also represent Guardiola’s last job in club management.

“We will have a talk after the Hannover game (on December 19) and we will announce the result afterwards”, Rummenigge said. “It is a rumour that we have had for the last 2½ seasons here”, Pellegrini said ahead of today’s league fixture against Southampton.

“There is not a person in the world who some time does not have to be replaced”.

The annual German figure of about 800 million euros for TV rights is a fraction of the almost three billion euros English top flight clubs will net per season from broadcasters Sky SKYB.L and BT BT.L under a new contract running between 2016 and 2019. That’s the state of things. Players come and go and it is the same for coaches. “The same goes for the coach – they come and they go too sooner or later”.
