Wins against TCU and Texas are possible, if not likely, but the No. 7 Bears need some help to crack the top four.
Now the third-year sophomore is getting ready to become the third starting quarterback this season for the Bears, who go into Friday night’s game at No. 15 TCU still with hopes for a third consecutive Big 12 title – and maybe even a spot in the College Football Playoff. “He’s just a great, great teammate, and I’m really excited for him”. Stidham will be in a boot for two to three weeks and then is expected to play in the team’s bowl game, coach Art Briles said onRussillo and Kanell on ESPN Radio.
He replaced Seth Russell who broke a bone in his neck and was lost for the season when he was leading the nationin touchdown passes and passer rating.
Briles also said Shock Linwood, the Big 12’s leading rusher, also is questionable for Friday’s game.
Stidham has played in all 10 games for Baylor this season as a true freshman, throwing for 1,265 yards and 12 touchdowns.
