NASA Celebrates Black Friday with Black Holes
When people were swooning over deals and offers that were up for grabs on Black Friday, NASA shared dramatic images of Black Holes; NASA has its way of celebrating #BlackHoleFriday.

Capitalizing on the most consumerist “holiday” ever, NASA took the opportunity to drop some knowledge (and awesome graphics) about black holes on Black Friday this year.
The burst of X-ray activity contradicts the previous theory that the gravitational fields of black holes are so powerful that even light can not escape from them, he says. By absorbing other stars and merging with other black holes, supermassive black holes of millions of solar masses may form.
An Indian astrophysicist says the recent observation by NASA scientists of giant flares of X-rays from a black hole confirms his theory that the so-called black holes are not “true” black holes but actually ultra hot balls of fire like our Sun, reports IANS. Some might not know what exactly Black Hole is?
Mitra, who was the head of theoretical astrophysics at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai and now Adjunct Professor at the Homi Bhabha National Institute said that Gas streams that are sucked into the black hole become extremely hot by friction and may radiate X-Rays. Black Holes are important as without them our galaxies would not exist and it plays a very crucial role in formation of galaxies.
“The destruction of a star by a black hole is beautifully complicated, and far from understood”, said Sjoert van Velzen, a Hubble fellow at Johns Hopkins, in a news release.

Mitra believes that black holes are the result of massive stars contracting to a smaller size, leading to a large amount of radiation trapped within the extremely hot star, according to the Free Press Journal.
