Don’t turn the ball over: Oklahoma State is the most opportunistic team in the Big 12 at creating turnovers and turning their opponents’ mistakes into points on the scoreboard. If everything breaks right this weekend – there will be some scoreboard watching on Notre Dame vs. Stanford – the victor could end up in the College Football Playoff. With all of that being said, on Saturday night Bedlam will record another year of Oklahoma’s historic rivalry between orange and crimson and cream.
The talk: The Sooners moved up to No. 3 in the latest playoff rankings. This year, Oklahoma leads the Big 12 in each category during conference play. Coleman, Cannon or Lee all have the potential to do what Oklahoma State sophomore James Washington did against the Frogs in their only loss, when he had five catches for 184 yards and three touchdowns of at least 48 yards.
Baylor wins the league title if it takes down No. 19 TCU (Friday) and Texas (Dec. 5), coupled with an OSU victory over the Sooners. If the Bears lose, the 11-1 Cowboys would be the champ all by itself. From an entertainment standpoint, there might be no topping the 61-58 slugfest between Baylor and TCU in 2014.
Should he beat Oklahoma State Saturday, the legend of Baker Mayfield will continue to grow.
This is only the third time both teams in the Bedlam game are ranked in the top 10, but as often is the case, the outcome will have a significant impact on the Big 12 race. He was suspended for the Tulsa game for unspecified reasons, but he has been a force since his return. Quarterback Joel Lanning is coming off a career-high three touchdown passes, while tailback Mike Warren rushed for 195 yards. It allowed two touchdowns to Baylor, but it came up with two interceptions. Oklahoma State can still win its second conference title in five years with a victory.
After the fight that this team put up in Norman, I firmly believe that they will never stop fighting. While that should have TCU quaking in their cleats, Baylor is down to their third-string QB after losing backup Jarrett Stidham for the rest of the season. In the Big 12, there’s a difference between being 400-yard dominant, and 270-yard effective.

Signs are that OU quarterback Baker Mayfield will be able to play, although with a concussion, it’s tricky.
At the start of the season, Walsh spent more time helping Rudolph along. Walsh has also run for 235 yards and 11 scores.

If that’s gonna happen, the Pokes’ offensive linemen are going to have to play their best game of the season. He missed the final half of last Saturday’s 30-29 win over TCU.
