Timberwolves 101, Kings 91

Andrew Wiggins scored 22 points, Zach LaVine added 19 points & eight rebounds, & the Minnesota Timberwolves got an enormous game from their reserves in a 101-91 win over the Sacramento Kings on Friday. night. Rudy Gay usually steps up and pours on the points, but he shot just one of 13 for his two points which was pretty shocking as he poured in 36 points just a couple nights earlier against the Bucks. With the loss, Sacramento falls to 6-11 on the season and 4-6 at home. Quincy Acy replaced Cauley-Stein to start the second half but was pulled after playing less than four minutes.

“I feel like we have the personnel to defend so we need to do a better job defending”. Shabazz Muhammad scored 15 points. Veteran Andre Miller was on the floor when the Timberwolves took control in the second quarter.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are a better team than the Kings at this stage of the season, especially when the Kings are without their best player.

The Kings bench unit of Darren Collison, Marco Belinelli and Omri Casspi continue to thrive for Sacramento.

ABOUT THE KINGS (6-10): The victory over Milwaukee was the sixth game Cousins has missed this season and marked the first time Sacramento won without his services. The 29-year-old point guard, who leads the National Basketball Association in assists and triple-doubles, became the first player since 1977-78 to have 16 points, 16 assists and no turnovers, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Forward Nemanja Bjelica also missed his fourth consecutive contest with a bruised left knee.

Timberwolves: Minnesota did not score any fast-break points and committed 18 turnovers….

Rajon Rondo had 11 of his 16 assists before the third. As DeMarcus Cousins goes, so does the Kings, and so far they aren’t going anywhere without him this season.
