Amendola also got in a limited session on Thursday, indicating that the Patriots are preparing to suit him up for Week 12’s matchup with the Denver Broncos.

New England will likely feature more two tight end sets featuring Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler.

An undisclosed illness has wiped away a quarter of Jamie Collins’ 2015 season. He was added to the injury report November 7 and returned to practice November 27.

NESN’s Doug Kyed reported that the Patriots elevated tight end Asante Cleveland from the practice squad. Williams had been listed as questionable.

Amendola, who injured his knee in Monday’s win over Buffalo, has stepped up the past couple of weeks in the absence of Julian Edelman, who broke his foot in the November 15 game against the Giants and will miss another four to six weeks. The Patriots now have Brandon LaFell, Chris Harper and Keshawn Martin (questionable, hamstring) as their current wide receiver depth chart. Maybe it was that it was a night game, or maybe it was that the calls in question were significant, but the errors seemed out of control.
