Boston police probing Okafor altercation
The reports added that the alleged victim said the men approached him and his friends and tried to get several females’ phone numbers. When the women declined, a verbal altercation ensued, followed by a physical scuffle.

Okafor allegedly punched the victim with a closed fist and knocked him to the ground after an argument.
This is a change from earlier reports Friday, which said the Boston police wasn’t planning on investigating the incident.
“It was definitely dumb on my part, something I’m embarrassed about”, Okafor told reporters, indicating he was being hassled by a man outside the club.
He added that he was “still dealing with the league and the team”. “We pay attention. We walk that line of doing what we need to to help educate and discipline anybody and help them understand if the situation were to present itself again how are you going to handle it”.
Following the incident in Boston, a Sixers’ spokesman issued a statement: “We are aware of the report and we are now working to gather additional information”.
A few hours later, the Sixers fell to the Houston Rockets, 116-114, to remain winless on the season.
In a video by TMZ, it can be seen that Okafor was exchanging tirades with an unknown person and things got worse after that. There’s no big-name news outlet reporting this, but Jake Pavorsky of the Liberty Ballers says that the guy following him was also at the Celtics game harassing him then.
According to TMZ, Okafor and another teammate disagree with the 76ers’ current state, evidenced by his fight with some Boston locals who heckled them to the tune of “Sixers suck”.
It is unclear what happened to Okafor or his associate after the incident or if they were interviewed by U.S. Park Rangers or PPD.

If that’s the case, the Okafor really needs to have some security or do what Skip Bayless always says. “You can’t put a [padlock] on life”, Brown said, according to the Inquirer. “Until that time, we will have no further comment”. Okafor played 36 minutes in the game, leading all scorers with 19 points.
