Three-point barrage leads Warriors to 135-116 win over Suns

The Los Angeles Lakers hold the all-time record of 33 straight wins, set during the 1971-72 season.

“We were in that situation past year, I think we had already eclipsed the 60-win mark by April and we were trying to balance staying sharp and building chemistry with rest”, Curry said. “Mahal namin sila. We expect to cheer the Warriors on to victory and to make sure (that they feel) that Filipinos in the south of the market love them”, Araullo uttered. But in reality, each shot is a thing of beauty on its own.

Curry, the reigning NBA MVP, made 9-of-16 3-point attempts and reserve guard Leandro Barbosa made all five of his treys while scoring 21 points.

Green submitted a triple-double – 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists – before leaving with 2:50 left in the game.

The Warriors set an National Basketball Association record for most three-pointers made in a half (15), a franchise record for most three-pointers made in a game (22) and almost tied the National Basketball Association record for most three-pointers made in a game (23).

“They shoot 3s like layups”, Suns forward Markieff Morris said. It is possible the streak could end tonight against a rising Suns team with a viable back court in Eric Bledsoe and Brandon Knight playing well. “We would like to still get the ball inside and move it side to side”. “But we still want to get over 300 passes for a game”. I mean I can tease everyone we can make every night Filipino Heritage night because if you look at the crowd, it is really a very strong fan base. “We didn’t do that. Their shots were pretty wide open”.

Hornacek admired the ball movement of the Warriors.

“We shoot a lot of threes, but we like to shoot a lot of good ones”, said Curry, whose team shot a season-high 57.9 percent from beyond the arc. Luckily for Golden State, at the 11th overall pick they selected sharpshooting swingman Klay Thompson to pair alongside point guard of the future Stephen Curry.

Leonard, who did most of his damage with 15 points in the first half, led the Spurs in scoring for the sixth straight game. Curry’s three with under a minute to play in the first pulled the Warriors within one, and Festus Ezeli‘s basket before the buzzer gave the Warriors a 30-29 advantage after one. Their offense wasn’t bad and the Suns actually put up a good defensive fight in the first half, but none of it mattered in the wake of another Stephen Curry detonation.

Tyson Chandler picked up a strained left hamstring injury in the opening minutes and did not return.

Here’s the conundrum though: Barnes is first on the depth chart at small forward in front of Andre Iguodala, meaning Iguodala now likely takes over in the starting five. The Warriors have the most consecutive wins of any National Basketball Association to start a season. No problem, apparently, as the Warriors cruised to a 19-point win, 135-116, and keeping their streak alive. Iguodala has turned into the Dubs’ Swiss-Amy Knife on defense, and he showed exactly that as the Most Valuable Player in the Finals previous year.
