Browns demote Manziel after partying video

Pettine said Manziel will be given the opportunity to earn his trust back, and that he expects Manziel, who signed a four-year, $8 million contract with Cleveland in 2014, to play for the Browns again.

The decision of Mike Pettine to bench Cleveland Browns starting quarterback Johnny Manziel after video surfaced of him partying in Austin during the Browns’ bye was apparently twofold, according to a report from Fox’s Jay Glazer.

Last weekend a video surfaced of the Browns then-starting quarterback Johnny Manziel holding champagne while at a party. Earlier this season, we saw the Ravens lose to Cleveland in overtime at home, with Browns QB Josh McCown throwing for a ridiculous 457 touchdowns without an interception. Manziel will drop to No. 3 on the depth chart. “You know what I mean?” It is. I am not going to sit here and say it is not. There is nothing left to play for, so the Browns figured it might be worth seeing if they have a future franchise quarterback in the former Texas Aggie.

Manziel was in the locker room on November 27 but avoided reporters by ducking into one entrance of the shower area and exiting from another.

“Disappointing – very”, Pettine said when asked about the actions of Manziel, who spent more than 10 weeks this past offseason in an inpatient rehabilitation facility specializing in alcohol and drug addiction treatment. Like I said, I dealt with it Wednesday.

“I said trust and accountability was where we had a short fall”. “We always say, to whom much is given, much is expected”.

Manziel and Crowley were pulled over by police last month after the two had been at a bar, with Crowley telling police that the football player had slammed her head into the vehicle window. He understands the reason, but that doesn’t ease the sting. “When I say I’m sorry to disappoint, I’m not really”. Bobby Joe Manziel was also a bantamweight boxer known as “The Syrian Kid” when he was younger and who was friends of and sparred with the great boxer Jack Dempsey.

“All of us as people, myself included, we all are a work-in-progress every day”, he said. We know Johnny’s issues and we are working with him every day. “He faces them head-on and he does what he thinks is right in all circumstances, even if maybe it doesn’t look good off the bat or if even in this case, he’s asking Johnny maybe to take a step back to hopefully take a couple of steps forward”.

“They have gotten the ball a lot this year”, DeFilippo said.

The 22-year-old had been named the Browns’ starter for the rest of the season after throwing for 372 yards in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 15, but has since been replaced by veteran quarterback Josh McCown. I want to see him realize his potential.

Johnny Manziel's partying literally makes one Browns fan cry over the radio
