Cutler leads Bears to surprise win over Packers
The defeat not sitting well with James Jones.

Tracy Porter, who picked off Rodgers with 3:19 remaining and was oft dominant while adding four passes defensed after an iffy, first-quarter pass interference penalty, said it was just another day at the office.
In less than a year, they have started to successfully close a gap between Chicago and Green Bay that started to widen in Jerry Angelo’s and Lovie Smith’s final years with the team and expanded to enormous levels by the time Phil Emery and Marc Trestman left town. When Cutler has been out there, he’s doing what most top passers do, raising the play of all those around them. “That’s the last thing we talked about”. He came off the field holding his arm, and said after the game that he had lost feeling in his fingers.
For the first time in, well, forever, Rodgers appeared shaky against the Bears, sputtering through a night that saw him complete 22 of 43 passes for 202 yards.
Cutler was a little better, somewhat of a surprise given how poorly he has played at Green Bay in his career with the Bears. But under new coach John Fox and offensive coordinator Adam Gase, Cutler avoided throwing a pick.
Green Bay had won six of its previous seven at Lambeau.
Favre was scheduled to have his name and retired No. 4 unveiled on the facade at Lambeau Stadium at halftime of the Bears-Packers game Thursday night.
“Looking at guys in that locker room that had been here for a minute and maybe not had great success here, Jay included”.
“He’s shown a lot of toughness to all of his teammates and the coaching staff. He’s working extremely hard”, Fox said about Cutler.
The Green Bay Packers have had their way with the Chicago Bears of late and are hoping last week’s strong performance carries over.
“Difficult loss this evening”.
“A basic route”, said McCarthy, who rarely is publicly critical of his players.
The Packers caught a break after Cutler mishandled a shotgun snap on third-and-11 to set up a punt.
But McCarthy’s offense couldn’t capitalize, moving quickly up the field on their final two drives only to come up short.
Wide receiver Davante Adams #17 of the Green Bay Packers runs with the football after a reception against the Seattle Seahawks during the NFL game at Lambeau Field on September 20, 2015 in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
“When they do that, we’ve got to run the ball”. In the second quarter, he fumbled at the end of a 15-yard run. We’re very honest in our evaluations; everybody’s got to play better – obviously. “It doesn’t matter who we were playing tonight”, said Porter.
“Man, we’ve all been wearing them hoodies in practice now forever”. Meanwhile, rookie RB Jeremy Langford carried 12 times for 48 yards, a 4-yard average, with a long of 14 and a touchdown.
In his return to the starting lineup, Alshon Jeffery led receivers with 60 snaps and had nine catches, seemingly not too limited by a groin injury. Without Romo, the Cowboys have yet to win a game this season.
Porter made a fourth-quarter interception of Rodgers, and reserve safety Chris Prosinski caused a first-quarter fumble that led to a score.
