But the Bulldogs have won their last four games, and finished second in the SEC West. Georgia went to a bowl game every year under Richt, and won nine bowl games, and had a 2-1 record in the Sugar Bowl.

Looking at the big picture, Georgia hasn’t won the East since 2012 and hasn’t won an SEC title since 2005.

UGA coach Mark Richt’s long and successful career with the Bulldogs has come to an abrupt end.

There has been speculation about Richt’s future since losses to Tennessee, Alabama and Florida ended the Bulldogs’ hopes for a Southeastern Conference championship. He will reportedly coach the Bulldogs in their bowl game this season, giving him an opportunity for a 10th season of at least 10 wins. His record today is 145-51, and one of those columns will get incremented by one after the Bulldogs’ bowl.

Richt will likely be heavily sought after by multiple programs across the country, as he is now one of the top-coaching candidates available.

It’s been a hard season for Richt as a head coach, as he lost his star running back Nick Chubb early in the season with a torn PCL.

According to multiple reports, UGA has fired head football coach Mark Richt.
