Ben Carson visits Syrian refugees in Jordan camp
Middle Eastern countries should absorb the millions of displaced Syrian refugees fleeing civil war in their country, Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said Saturday following a visit to a refugee camp in Jordan.

Carson has promised to offer real solutions to these problems in the coming days, problems which he believes were created in part by the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton.
Yet the plight of Syrian refugees has become a political hot potato in the U.S., with half of the country’s governors declaring that Syrian refugees were not welcome in their states after the attacks in Paris on November 13. “Jordan needs and deserves our help”, the statement added. But Jordan is a small country. When issuing the order, Brownback said, “We must take immediate action to ensure terrorists do not enter the nation or our state under the guise of refugee resettlement”.
Carson is scheduled to return to the United States late Saturday, Bennett said.
Carson explained that the refugees came to Jordan for safety and that “Jordan is doing an wonderful job opening its doors and extending a hand in relief”. Jordan already houses 1.4 million refugees. “Americans can help by supporting humanitarian organizations on the ground”. More importantly, this gave Dr. Carson the opportunity to meet Syrians first-hand and listen to their stories.
An official in Carson’s 2016 campaign told ABC News that the retired neurosurgeon traveled to Jordan on a “fact finding and information gathering mission”. Carson also posted a picture of his visit on his Facebook page.
Under heavy Jordanian security, Carson toured the Azraq camp in northern Jordan and said he did not come away with any more confidence that authorities can successfully screen potential ISIS terrorists among the refugees, the AP reported. They have complained that they are carrying an unfair burden while the global community’s support has fallen short.
Carson and other Republican presidential candidates have criticized President Barack Obama’s plan to admit 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year, citing the risk that militants could slip through.

I was delighted to hear of the humanitarian efforts by many other countries who are providing technical assistance, monetary assistance and supplies among other things.
