Free adoptions at Williamson County animal shelter
To celebrate Black Friday, two area animal shelters have been set to offer free pet adoptions this weekend.

All fees, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations and microchipping will be waived. Also, during the month of December the Animal Welfare League in Queen Anne’s will be continuing their own free adoption promotion for their cats and dogs.
“Sure, you might be able to get a great deal on a TV on Black Friday, but a dog or cat will love you back forever”, said Robert Miller, director of Riverside County Animal Services. Apparel company Zappos is partnering with Best Friends Animal Society to sponsor the adoption fees.

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is also offering a Home for the Holidays foster program. It was offering half-off adoption fees for all dogs when adopters brought in an item from the shelter’s Wish List. “Things that you always want to keep in mind are that there are additional expenses, long term-care for animals, so those things have to be taken into consideration”, said Animal Care and Control Adoption Supervisor Lindsay Pease.
