The reports of Les Miles’ demise are, at least, somewhat exaggerated. LSU could have had a nine-win regular season if not for lightning canceling the season opener against heavy underdog McNeese State.

With Miles coming back, there’s plenty of reasons for him along with everyone in Baton Rouge to do the dab. A win against Texas A&M to snap LSU’s three-game losing streak and it looks like the school’s second-winningest coach in football history is sticking around.
Texas A&M (8-4, 4-4) ran into one of the most inspired efforts all season. Except it’s not the end of this wild ride led by Les for 11 seasons and counting.
It’s hard to blame him and his players for being excited. “Everybody was hustling and giving it their all”.
Miles agreed that, beyond all the other factors in play this week, there is added motivation to beat Chavis and his team this weekend. I don’t think he had too many yards today. Six minutes to go, it’s still a six point game in the fourth quarter. This is a team that should be playing for championships.
FIRST EARLY LEAD SINCE OCTOBER: The Tigers took a 6-0 lead over the Aggies in the first quarter on field goals of 32 and 38 yards by Trent Domingue. Allen highlighted the 80-yard drive in seven plays with a 47-yard completion to wide receiver Josh Reynolds. Domingue then missed a 25-yard field goal off the left upright, and LSU left with nothing. Officials said the record could grow, as the Tigers are bowl eligible and the statistics from the bowl game count toward season totals.
“We just said we’re the LSU Tigers”, Neal said.
“I just wanted to make sure if it was [Miles’ last game], we sent him out the right way”, Alexander said.
Enough was enough for the LSU defense Saturday night.
With the pass attack struggling, Texas A&M rattled off six consecutive runs to reach the LSU 31.
Still, the events of Saturday, both during and after the game, constituted a remarkable turnaround for a coach who seemed for all the world to be making his final home appearance on the Tigers’ sideline. The SEC record for single-season rushing yards was set in 1981 by Herschel Walker of Georgia (1,891). Why is such an important decision being made in the third quarter? With the ball at the 15, Fournette pounded his way up the gut on two big runs of 12 and 13 yards a piece to put LSU at the 40.

The Tigers could have won by much more.
