A Pennsylvania township police officer was shot and killed while responding to a domestic dispute.
According to court documents, Ray Shetler Jr., 31, pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy and simple assault charges and received two years’ probation in one case.
Shetler’s aunt Wendy Kenley of New Florence said she went to Luther’s residence as soon as she heard about the shooting.
Authorities had earlier warned residents in the area to lock the doors and windows of their homes and vehicles while Shetler was at large.
Pennsylvania State Police did not immediately return a call for comment. He worked for about five years at the St. Clair department, which employs all part-time officers. When she arrived, the woman, whom she called Shetler’s girlfriend, was on the ground, trying to assist the officer. “I don’t want people to think he’s some kind of monster”.

State police said Shetler was being guarded while undergoing treatment and an arrest warrant would be obtained on Sunday. Before being transported to jail, the suspect was being treated for a bullet wound sustained during the initial confrontation.
