Mason and Anton latest to leave the X Factor

Things have been tense between the hopeful and the X Factor judge, after Nick branded Anton’s performance as “fake” during Saturday night’s live show (21 November).

Anton was sent home from The X Factor, after facing Che Chesterman in the sing off. “You just took us to those lovely notes”.

Since leaving the ITV talent show, Mason has slammed viewers who didn’t vote and now he’s officially saying he wasn’t up to scratch because of another reason entirely, but it’s not what some might think. Simon also stuck to his contestant, Anton, whom he said made him really emotional.

Yesterday he sang One Sweet Day by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men, and there were boos from the crowd as Grimshaw said: “It still feels like an act to me, it doesn’t feel real or raw”.

“I’ve loved it. Thank you to everyone who voted, and thank you to everyone who didn’t as well”, Mason said to host Caroline Flack after finding out his fate.

Fighting his corner: Clearly upset with the comments, Anton snapped back, ‘Excuse me, but this is all real.

“Have never said I’m the prettiest or thinnest or even anything special”.

Nick picked up on the singer’s tone and responded: “Don’t get aggressive”, only for Anton to insist: “I’m not being aggressive, I just needed to put you straight”. But thank God I’m not frightful. “I’m sure you’re going to see me again, because I’m going to tour”.

Mason Noise was the first to leave the reality show last night, after receiving the lowest number of votes from the public, and Anton, who performed “I Can’t Make You Love Me”, went home soon after.

After the show, Mason shared a picture of him and guest performer Ed Sheeran, calling the X singer a living legend.

Speaking about his mentor, Anton described working with Simon as “extraordinary” and revealed it was one of the most positive experiences he had on the show.
