New York Jets fall to Houston Texans in Week 11
“Look, I just told the team I think it’s a really good team win”.

The loss hurts the Jets’ ever-decreasing playoff chances. Nor do they deserve to be after Sunday’s humiliating 24-17 loss.
Jets quarterback Fitzpatrick completed under 50 percent of his passes, threw more interceptions than touchdowns and finished with a QB rating of 52.9, so overall you’d have to say the secondary played well.
-Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney recorded a half-sack, two tackles and deflected one pass in his first game back from a painful lower back injury. Houston CB A.J. Bouye didn’t return after leaving in the second quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. The Texans are on a short week coming off the Monday night road game while the Jets played two Thursdays ago so they get some extra rest.
After a very promising start, the New York Jets form has fallen off quite drastically over the last month, which might be directly connected to Brandon Marshall struggling to be the game-changing factor he was earlier this season. After going 13 consecutive quarters without allowing an offensive touchdown, the Jets score in the third quarter ended that impressive streak for Houston’s defense. Those teams average almost 8 yards to go on third-down plays, according to Pro Football Reference. As long as Fitzpatrick’s hand holds up, I expect Decker to see a much larger work load than previous weeks. Then after two punting drives to start the second half, the Jets made it 10-10 after Chris Ivory’s fumble was reversed. There’s a lot of guesswork when a team has to play the percentages on where he usually lines up – but even that isn’t foolproof.
The Jets got the ball back with 3:08 left, but on 4th-and-5, the quarterback was picked off by Eddie Pleasant.
But the Jets could muster little else on offense until Fitzpatrick’s fourth-quarrter score.
The Cowboys took advantage of the Dolphins inability to stop the run by rushing for 166 yards on 38 carries and led Miami in time of possession 38:50 to 21:10. If he makes that catch, the momentum shifts to the Jets’ hands. On the ensuing Texans drive, Yates led his team downfield before a trick play.
The Texans widened the margin to 17-10 with a 21-yard Wildcat TD pass from receiver Cecil Shorts to running back Alfred Blue before Hopkins caught a 20-yard TD pass immediately after Revis left the game.
Former New York Jet Damien Woody also had flattering words for Watt. And Darrelle Revis got injured and had to leave the game. They played well enough to take the Bengals off of their undefeated pedestal, taking home the win 10-6. This week they are hoping that they will be able to get their offense jump-started, as Ryan Fitzpatrick is recovering from surgery on his left thumb.
That result means that the Jaguars managed to win two straight games for the first time in more than two years, and allows them to gain some traction in a mixed up AFC South division.
The playoff window is narrowing for the Jets.
A lackluster performance by both sides was eventually permeated by incredible receptions from Hopkins, the third youngest receiver to 200 catches in National Football League history.

As a group, their yards-per-attempt number at 3.3 stunk once again, but I’m willing to ignore that since they gained more than 100 yards on the ground for only the second time in 10 games this season. “For the 47th time in a row”.
