Federation Internationale de Football Association delay Madrid transfer ban?

If FIFA were to announce the ban before the upcoming January transfer window, Real would not be able sign any players in 2016 (in the January and June-August transfer windows).

Los Blancos would then be able to properly plan their transfers for next season before being banned in 2017. The club was also fined 333,000 pounds.

According to the official Federation Internationale de Football Association regulations there are only specific exceptions that allow the worldwide transfers of players that are considered minors and Arsenal and Chelsea are both under inquiry for breaking that rule.

It is reported that both Real and Atletico Madrid have already been found guilty of similar charges, which has led Mundo Deportivo to take up the fight for the Nou Camp side.

Juventus hope that a FIFA-imposed transfer ban for Real Madrid will halt the potential departure of Alvaro Morata, reports in Italy claim.

Barca’s penalty was the result of transfer violations surrounding the signings of underage players, and while similar offences are also likely to be responsible for any discipline the English sides’ receive, the piece does not go into any detail about which transfers have been investigated.

However, a FIFA spokesperson told MD, “FIFA is not in a position to confirm such information”, while it added, “Please understand that judicial proceedings are confidential”.

The bans that have been imposed mean that both Real and Atletico would be unable to sign any players in both the January and the summer transfer windows of 2016.
