Addressing Jamelia’s claims, Goodman (who abstained from voting, but would have plumped for her) admitted that it was tough on her. “To say it was clear cut, it wasn’t”.

“I have watched it back and I did think Peter danced a little bit better…so I can well understand that”. “11 years I’ve done the show, never once has a producer come up to me and said, “mark so and so a bit higher”.

“They never interfere with our integrity, they never tell us what to say, we are not scripted to say this or that”, he stated. He continued, “Now you finalists, I want you to give it your all in these last dances”.

The 71-year-old dismissed the “chatter” and said he was speaking out in order to stand up for a programme “that brings joy to so many millions of people”.

“I do hope that this draws a line under the gossip and insinuation unfairly levelled at the show”.

He added: “If you take Craig, he’s from the world of theatre, Darcey from the world of ballet, Bruno is from the world of pop videos and choreography, and I’m from the world of ballroom, so you are going to get different opinions, but it doesn’t make me right”.

From day one it looked like Peter Andre and his dance partner Janette Manrara were headed to win the Strictly Come Dancing trophy, but the shock news just in is that they could be LEAVING this weekend.

She explained in the post that additional – including the re-recorded standing ovation – were filmed during a break while the set was being changed for Jamelia’s routine to allow Sunday’s show to be “stitched together seamlessly in the edit”.

“These extra opportunities to capture audience reaction are standard practice in recording TV shows of this nature”.
