Patriots Practice Report: Danny Amendola Limited, Jamie Collins Out

Amendola was listed as questionable on the injury report with a knee issue after being a limited participant in practices Thursday and Friday.

According to Steve Burton of CBS Boston, there was originally a report that Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola would miss Sunday’s game against the Broncos.

If, as expected, Amendola doesn’t travel to Colorado, the Patriots will be (or at least should be) issuing an updated injury report downgrading Amendola from questionable to out.

An undisclosed illness has wiped away a quarter of Jamie Collins’ 2015 season.

And while Brady completed passes to seven different receivers in the Patriots’ win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, the Broncos have far more ability to match up in the secondary than the Bills do. With Julian Edelman out for the game and Aaron Dobson placed on injured reserve this week, it means the Patriots are going to be thin at the wide out position. That leaves veteran Brandon LaFell and undrafted free agent Chris Harper as New England’s lone healthy receivers.

Also on Saturday, the Patriots signed tight end Asante Cleveland and linebacker Darius Fleming to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and released defensive back Dewey McDonald.
