Revis to sit out Jets game vs. Dolphins with concussion
But rookie Devin Smith got off the schneid with his first pro TD on a 16-yard slant strike from Fitzpatrick with 8 seconds left in the first half.

Four losses in their last five games have the Jets (5-5) on a slide while the Dolphins (4-6) have lost three of their last four coming into this one.
Cornerback Darrelle Revis will not play in the New York Jets’ game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday because he is still dealing with a concussion.
“We’ve got to run the ball effectively”. I think our team came in with high expectations.
“We ended up with 41 plays and we really only produced 14 points out of that”, Campbell said.
Running back Lamar Miller had five carries for two yards.
SLUGGISH DOLPHINS: Ryan Tannehill and Miami’s offense have scored more than 20 points just twice this season – in Campbell’s first two games as interim coach: 38-10 at Tennessee and 44-26 over Houston at home. It hurts. There is no way we should be sitting where we’re at, but we are. It was the closest we’ve seen to a complete game from the Jets since that 4-1 start, and it’s exactly what we’ll need to see from them over the course of the remainder of the season if they’re going to capitalize on this newfound momentum.
NY comes into the matchup on a rollercoaster season that has included defensive dominance, offensive woes and absolutely questionable decisions. Jeremy Kerley, who under Bowles has been demoted from starting at receiver to being primarily a special-teams player, then shimmied up the left sideline for a 58-yard return to the Miami 25.
NY outdid that impressive 72-yard drive with a 92-yarder to end the first half.
If nothing else for this season, the New York Jets can always hang their hats on the fact that they put it on Miami in both contests the between the teams.
Center Mike Pouncey (right foot) and wide receiver Rishard Matthews (chest, ribs) are the two most costly injuries.
“That’s kind of a classless move to celebrate when a guy’s injured”, Tannehill said. He leads the Dolphins with 64 catches and is second on the team with 653 receiving yards. Meanwhile, Matthews leads the way in receiving yards (662), and touchdowns (4), while trailing Landry in total catches (43). The drive was sparked by a 40-yard pass to Landry.
NOTES: DE Quinton Coples made his Dolphins debut against his former team after being claimed off waivers from the Jets on Tuesday.

Smith’s touchdown catch with just eight seconds remaining in the first half doubled the Jets advantage going into halftime, and the momentum kept carrying into the third quarter and beyond.
